Dear visitor,
I began my journey in reading intervention in 2006 when I graduated from college with very few (if any) plans of becoming an advocate and teacher for struggling readers. Then, I was placed in a position at a small private school where I was profoundly drawn to the students who had reached middle and high school grades without the literacy tools they needed to succeed academically. Thus began my journey, which has been developing in exciting ways ever since.
During the earlier stages of my training in the field of multi-sensory reading instruction, I looked for a blog where I could find daily insights and inspiration. I never found exactly what I was looking for, so I made plans to one day launch this blog.
In striving to help struggling readers, you will almost always run across at least one student who simply does not respond to all of your old tricks.
I hope you'll like it here. Don't forget to stop by the "Get Involved" section under the "Litera-Seed" banner to find out about how YOU can contribute to this mission.
You may email me with questions, suggestions, concerns, or to be a guest author at literaseed(at)gmail(dot)com. That's literaseed@gmail.com .
And always, always feel free to COMMENT on posts! Comments will create a dialogue among readers, which I believe will become a valuable aspect of this blog.
To get the comments started, please leave reactions, questions, or suggesions on this post!
Thank you for stopping by,
Courtney Riggin, Litera-Seed founder and facilitator
